Workshops An Idiot Prepares For more information, or to book this workshop for your organisation email us."A hunch is creativity trying to tell you something" Frank CapraMaking the most of an R&D process Research and development is a vital part of the Idiot process; without it, we would not be able to create the work we do. Too often, however, an R&D process can seem unsatisfying, unfocused, and, at its worst, pointless. This intensive 2-day practical workshop, led by Idiot Artistic Director Paul Hunter and Executive Director Jennifer Holton, will examine an approach that aims to get the most out of the earliest stages of a project. By asking questions without worrying about the answers, and by developing ideas without getting seduced into rehearsing, participants will engage with structures and building blocks that allow an initial starting point to ferment and develop. The workshop is ideal for anyone interested in collaborative theatre-making and serves as a great provocation for all practitioners, regardless of their role. Feedback from participants: "It was a brilliant workshop, left feeling inspired to get a few projects moving ahead now. Was so nice to play with a lovely bunch of creatives in the room as well." "I really enjoyed the workshop. It allowed me to get re-energised and passionate about playing and creating." "I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and it was fascinating to get an insight into the R&D process used by Told by an Idiot."
