A Told by an Idiot, Theatre Royal Plymouth and Arcola Theatre Production

Napoleon died in exile. But what if he didn't?
What if he swapped identities with a lowly sailor and hot-footed it back to Paris?
On the Eurostar?

Napoleon Disrobed was a playful, side-splitting and endlessly inventive show from Told by an Idiot, one of the UK's most celebrated devised theatre companies.

Audiences were invited to go incognito with a certain French general on his perilous journey across Europe, from dodgy hotel rooms to floundering melon enterprises. The history books were well and truly rewritten in this raucous comedy about losing immense power and rediscovering personal freedom.

Paul Hunter took on the role of the fallen Emperor Napoleon under the direction of Kathryn Hunter in their first collaboration since the smash-hit My Perfect Mind (★★★★★ ‘a show unlike any other’ Daily Telegraph).
