We are very sad to hear of the death of our dear colleague Maggie O'Brien. She was a wonderful Idiot and was terrific as Miriam Kirby in our production of the classic American comedy You Can’t Take It With You at the Royal Exchange.
With a wonderful light touch for comedy, she played the initially uptight socialite who is won over by the bohemian Sycamore family with delightful relish.
She was also superb as Maureen in my production of Martin McDonagh’s The Beauty Queen of Leenane at the Bolton Octagon. She brought great skill and poignancy to a woman who was trapped with her Mother and fighting for one last opportunity for love. She was a great company member, and was enormous fun in and out of the rehearsal room.

Thanks for the laughs Maggie.
