Current production: Augmented

Told by an Idiot are over the moon to be partnering with the brilliant Augmented Productions, the brainchild of Sophie Woolley for a year-long associateship. Over the next twelve months the two organisations will play together, and grow together, with Told by an Idiot offering Augmented Productions vital support in their inaugural year.

Augmented Productions is a new company set up by writer and performer Sophie Woolley. Sharing unexpected, tragic-comic stories and bringing joy and new understanding, Augmented Productions makes quality, accessible theatre.  The company begins its journey with its namesake production, Augmented, which tells Sophie’s real-life experience of becoming a deaf cyborg, coming to venues across the UK from March 2020.

"I'm delighted about associating with such a brilliant company. I first worked with TBAI in 2018 and the workshop process changed how I felt about audiences. It changed the way I felt onstage. I love the way the company works with performers."

"I am thrilled that Augmented Productions will be joining us as our first associate company. The brains behind Augmented is Sophie Woolley, a unique writer, performer, and experimenter, who was a crucial part of our project with the Barbican 'Let Me Play The Lion Too'. Sophie will surprise and challenge us with her playful and provocative work, and it marks a new and exciting development in the journey of both organisations."
