Taught by an Idiot

Offering a range of events from workshops to performances, post show improvisations to panel debates and long-term residencies to spontaneous happenings, Taught by an Idiot is fundamentally about collaboration, liberation and the pursuit of pleasure.

Told by an Idiot revels in a style of performance that is bigger than life and this is now reflected in a new and dynamic approach to the way we collaborate with audiences.

Taught by an Idiot is a major interactive initiative set up as a direct response to creating performance that is anarchic, spontaneous and accessible to the widest possible audience. It is not a teaching programme and will present opportunities for everyone regardless of background, age, ethnicity, ability or training. The only thing that is asked of participants is a sense of openness, curiosity and the desire to play.

As with the creation of our shows Taught by an Idiot will continue to evolve and respond to new and surprising ideas, interests and inspiration.

An energising and inspiring two days that leave you wishing all workshops were like this.
